Organizers calling all kids and parents to WC fun run

The Yonkers Police Department is joining the call to all Westchester runners, young and old, to attend the annual 5K fun-run in the city this weekend.

The Yonkers fun-run and walk is now in its fourth year after long-time Yonkers business owner Perstine Wesley came up with the idea as a way to create a positive relationship between young kids and police officers in the city.

"We need to explain to them what police in our city, in any city, mean to them," Wesley says.
