Stewart-Cousins camp predicting win, McLaughlin says 'too close'

While it appears that Rep. Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D - N.Y.) will serve a third term in the 35th state Senate District after yesterday's elections, she has not declared victory yet and her opponent has yet to concede.

Republican challenger Liam McLaughlin says that with the most recent numbers only showing him 10 percent behind Stewart-Cousins, it would be premature to predict a winner.

Stewart-Cousins thanked her supporters last night for their support, saying that she was humbled by the turnout.

McLaughlin conceded that while his campaign is definitely down at 45 percent, compared to Stewart-Cousins' 55, it is certainly not out.
