McLaughlin concedes to Stewart-Cousins in 35th Senate Dist.

Republican Liam McLaughlin conceded victory in the race for Andrea Stewart-Cousins' 35th state Senate District seat yesterday afternoon.

While Stewart-Cousins had been favored to win, she had only been leading McLaughlin by 10 percentage points at the end of the day Tuesday, leading McLaughlin's campaign to determine the race too close to call.

McLaughlin made his concession over the phone to Stewart-Cousins and then News 12 after he says the Board of Elections contacted him with new numbers that showed her with a commanding lead.

The 35th state Senate District covers parts of Yonkers, Hastings-on-Hudson, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Elmsford, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Pleasantville. Stewart-Cousins camp predicting win, McLaughlin says 'too close'
