Rockland crew prepares, once again, for Haiti relief trip

The Rockland County Haiti Relief Fund is now preparing to send down aid once again as the already-hard hit country braces for a likely brush with Hurricane Tomas.

Sandra Oates, founder of the relief campaign, says that the group is incredibly concerned about the possibility of a hurricane in Haiti after the most recent disaster there.

"The conditions are already deplorable under good weather conditions," says member Renold Julien of Rockland.

"The tents that have already withstood the sun and wind, and all the other rain that has happened since [the earthquake] won't withstand the pressure of any heavy rains," Oates added.

The groups has called an emergency meeting for today to bring Rockland residents together to help Haiti. For more information on the group and how you can help, .
