Police identify body of man found dead as ex-cop

Police have identified one of the two bodies found in a vacant Newburgh home at 12 Liberty St. on Thursday night.

Police identified one of the bodies as Francis Piscopo, 49, who was a former Town of Lloyd police officer with a troubled past.

Piscopo was arrested in 2004 for allegedly selling marijuana and had previously been accused of stealing from the police department.

Sources tell News 12 that the second body found in the home was a nephew of Piscopo and that the shooing was over money, but police have yet to confirm those details.
