Sickened Ground Zero workers must decide to accept settlement

Thousands of sicken workers from the Ground Zero site must decide by Monday morning whether of not to accept an $815 million settlement after they sued the City of New York.

Approximately 10,000 plaintiffs would be eligible to receive between $7,000 and $1 million in compensation based on how sick they are.

Lawyers are urging those eligible to accept but some are not, blaming legal loopholes and how slow the case took to reach a settlement.

So far 93 percent of the plaintiffs have accepted, but 95 percent must accept for the settlement to become effective.

NY judge: 9/11 workers could get extra $47.5M
