Program aims to keep kids off drugs by offering dropoff

Several local Westchester police departments are taking part in a new program designed to help parents ensure that their kids stay away from prescription drug abuse.

The American Medicine Chest Challenge is designed to keep kids away from prescription drugs by encouraging parents to get rid of unwanted or expired prescription drugs by dropping them off at local police departments.

Police departments participating in the program include departments in Harrison, Peekskill, and both the town and village of Mamaroneck.
