County executive releases budget to legislators
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino gave county legislators an earful today about spending cuts in his new budget proposal.
Astorino?s budget calls for a 1-percent cut of county subsidies, which has been met with less-than-positive reaction from county legislators and organizations.
Nine not-for-profit organizations stepped forward today, arguing that there should be no cuts to the subsidies that they get from the county.
One of the organizations, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, claims that it adds value to life in Westchester.
Both the board and the county executive say that all the programs are facing cuts in order to avoid raising taxes.
