Corrections officer arrested after Cortlandt shootings

Police have arrested a corrections officer after they say he was walking down a street randomly firing into houses.

Police say Richard Kraemer was walking down Young Street in Cortlandt firing multiple rounds in every direction. They say he fired at least 20 rounds, seven of which ended up in one home.

Authorities say a man inside that house was struck in the leg. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to be fine, hospital officials say.

Investigators say Kraemer was arrested a short time after the incident, but they are still investigating why he started firing in the first place.

Kraemer is being held of $750,000 bond and is due in court on Monday.
