Man arrested for DWI with kids in Putnam County

A Brooklyn man is under arrest for felony DWI after he failed a sobriety check while driving with children in his car.

William Guachichulca was pulled over Saturday night on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast for allegedly driving 30 mph over the limit.

Police say that Guachichulca failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. Because he had his four young children in the car he was charged with felony DWI under Leandra?s Law.

Police also say that none of the children were wearing their seatbelts when they pulled the vehicle over.

Guachichulca is due in court on Thursday. His children have been placed in the custody of relatives.
