Newburgh PD: No arrests yet in double-murder of former cop, nephew

Police in Newburgh say that they still have not made any arrests in the double murder of a retired police officer and his nephew nearly two weeks after their bodies were discovered.

The bodies of 49-year-old Francis Piscopo and his nephew, Gerald, were discovered inside an abandoned home on Liberty Street in Newburgh on Nov. 3.

The elder Piscopo was a Town of Lloyd police sergeant and had a history of encounters with the law prior to his leaving the force.

Newburgh detectives are still asking anyone with information on the case to come forward. All calls will be kept confidential.
