Peekskill official denies racism allegations

A Peekskill city manager called allegations of racism in several city departments a result of several ?misunderstandings? yesterday.

The allegations come from city workers and vocal community activist Darrell Davis. Davis says there have been several incidents where workers have felt they were being treated unfairly due to their race.

City manager Richard Finn denies any ?rampant? racism and says the city has brought in the U.S. Justice Department to help train its employees.

Peekskill Mayor Mary Foster says there are a lot of measures the city is putting into place to ensure the work environment is professional, fair and respectful.
