Westchester seniors stranded on cruise ship return home

After days stranded at sea with only bottled water, Spam and Pop-Tarts, 30 of the stranded seniors from Yonkers have returned home.

The trip, which was organized by Westchester Legislator Bernice Spreckman, included a seven-day cruise and a trip to Las Vegas, but was cut short when a fire in the engine room disabled the ship.

Spreckman says that she is happy to be home and grateful that everything worked out.

She added that she is glad the cruise is being refunded and is looking forward to taking the cruise line up on its offer for a free cruise.
