Sound Shore Med. Center workers protesting for contract

About a dozen workers at the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle took to the streets this week to protest ongoing contract talks with the hospital that, they say, are not going well.

Maria Kercodo, one of the union members protesting, said that one of their primary complaints is that some workers are currently being asked to work weekends without pay. "They do special procedures and other things for free for the employer, and they're making demands that are unreasonable," Kercodo said.

News 12 reached out to hospital officials in New Rochelle for comment, but our call was not returned.
