Fancy felines prance, purr for WC kitty competition

Some 200 cats and their devoted owners descended on the Westchester County Center over the weekend for some friendly cat competition, and to help other friendly felines in need. The 35th Annual Cat Show drew a cacophony of cats, including some celebri-kitties like Elvis the Cat and Savannah Cat, who measured in at 44 inches long and 28 inches high.

Awards were handed out for the most fashionable and the best household cats, and there were also some four-legged friends looking for a new home.

"We have four shelters here with all kinds of cats and kittens available," said Claire Diele, of the Westchester Feline Club. "It's a great opportunity to look at the cats and see if there's one that might fit in your situation." Proceeds from the show are being donated to local shelters and animal rescue groups.
