Yonkers church hosts Thanksgiving dinner

Hundreds gathered Thursday for a Thanksgiving dinner at St. John's Church in Yonkers.

Some who attended say they look forward to the meal every year. Richard Thomas, who has been to the dinner for four years, says he likes the way the volunteers make the event special for the guests.

This is the 27th year the church and community have hosted the dinner. The executive director says in recent years, the annual tradition has been even more important as the need in the community has grown.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was on hand to help serve meals to the 300 guests.
