Yonkers inspector general suing teachers union

The Yonkers inspector general went to court yesterday and filed legal action to force a Yonkers teachers union to turn over documents to show how taxpayer money is being spent by the group.

Inspector General Dan Schorr says that the Yonkers Federation of Teachers has not complied with his office's subpoena for documents regarding the teachers welfare and benefits funds.

The union has said that it will comply with the subpoena, but Schorr says that, so far, they have not.
