Yonkers families suing city for home repairs

Some Yonkers homeowners are suing the city and Father Pat Carroll Development after their quest for home ownership turned into a nightmare.

Piles of dirt and thin insulation were not what the families were looking for when they bought the brand new affordable units off Ashburton Avenue.

The lawsuit also states that minority homeowners were steered to the west side of the city and that they were not informed of other affordable housing units that were being built across the city.

The families are asking the city to pay for repairs to damages in their homes.
