Police crack down on illegal left turns at Greenburgh intersection

Police say they are cracking down on drivers making illegal left turns at an intersection on the Greenburgh-Yonkers border to keep people safe and holiday shoppers moving.

A long line of cars could be seen being stopped today at the intersection of Fort Hill Road and Jackson Avenue. Many make the left turn at the intersection to reach the Central Avenue corridor, but there are visible signs that state the turn is illegal.

Some drivers received tickets today by Greenburgh police officers, while others were given warnings.

The infraction can cost drivers up to $135 and points on their license.
