Woman killed in Bronxville hit-and-run

Cops say one woman is dead and another has been arrested after a fatal hit-and-run accident last week in Bronxville.

Authorities say Sheryl Chasin was struck and killed outside J.C. Fogarty's on Kraft Avenue Thursday night on her way to honor a colleague inside the restaurant.

Police say she was hit crossing the street by Bridget Gambone, 85, of Yonkers, and was still on the ground when the driver of another vehicle failed to see her and ran over her again.

Cops say Gambone fled the scene. The second driver, Margaret Rich, of Yonkers, stayed at the scene and has not been charged, according to authorities. Police have charged Gambone with leaving the scene of an accident that led to death.

Chasin was the Yonkers Board of Education?s human resources director and worked in the school district for 24 years.
