Cohen concedes to Oppenheimer in 37th state Senate District

Republican state Senate candidate Bob Cohen conceded victory to Democratic incumbent state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer yesterday morning in the race for the 37th District seat.

Last week, both campaigns accused each other of delaying the ballot-counting process nearly one month after the November election.

Yesterday morning, Cohen congratulated Oppenheimer on winning her 14th term and said that he will continue to remain active and visible in Westchester civic life.

The full recount showed that Oppenheimer was ahead of Cohen by about 600 votes.

The 37th state Senate District includes parts of New Rochelle, Rye (City), White Plains, Harrison, Mamaroneck, New Castle, North Castle, Ossining, Rye (Town) and Scarsdale.
