Int'l cosmetics company creating local jobs with NY grant

A Rockland-based international cosmetics company is using a hefty state grant to create new jobs locally and allow them to expand their facility.

The Empire State Development Corporation is giving $500,000 to Intercos America to invest in new machinery, creating some 45 new jobs at their Congers facility.

Susan Jaffe, of Empire State Development, says that their grants are only given to companies who agree to invest the grants in new machinery. "They have to do the renovations, and they have to show us they've done it. They have to prove to us that they've hired the individuals."

Intercos America's chairman says they also expect to add another 250 contractors during their peak season.
