Other politicians may be probed following Leibell's guilty plea
Only a few days after former state Sen. Vincent Leibell (R-N.Y.) pleaded guilty to federal obstruction and tax evasion charges, speculation is beginning to mount that other high-profile Putnam County politicians may fall under the scope of a federal investigation.
Some feel that Leibell pleaded guilty in cooperation with a larger federal investigation, which may ensnare other prominent Putnam County figures.
So far, no one will confirm or deny the allegations, but because of the guilty plea, a number of questions may go unanswered about how and why Leibell was brought down.
