Man charged in shooting of 9-year-old in hunting accident
The man who allegedly shot a 9-year-old member of his hunting party has been charged in the shooting.
Douglas Sisco, 47, of Pennsylvania, is in the Orange County Jail, charged with reckless endangerment after police say he accidentally shot David Calabrese.
Investigators say Calabrese took off his bright orange hat because he was hot. Sisco, mistaking him for a deer, shot him in the stomach.
Calabrese was airlifted to the Westchester Medical Center where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Sisco was also charged with a number of environmental conservation violations. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
