WC exec to review county spending plan

The Westchester county executive will begin reviewing the latest version of the county?s spending plan today, but still has the power to either sign it or send it back.

On Friday, Westchester County Democrats passed their budget plan by a vote of 16-to-1. The plan calls for $1.7 billion in spending for 2011, and also provides a 2 percent property tax reduction, which Democrats are calling the second-deepest cut in more than 30 years.

Astorino?s proposed budget plan included numerous cuts to county services and just a 1 percent cut in taxes.

A final budget plan for the county is due by the end of the year.
