Police: Oil deliveryman stole brass in Cortlandt

An oil company employee has been accused of stealing brass while making deliveries to the Town of Cortlandt Water Department.

David Ranalli, 63, has been charged with stealing $7,000 worth of brass water meters from Cortlandt.

Police say over the past month, the Yonkers man stole thousands of pounds of brass while making his regular oil deliveries and sold the metal at scrap yards.

Ranalli is facing a felony grand larceny charge and is due back in court on Dec. 27. The name of the oil company he works for was not released.
