Cops: College student possibly targeted in armed home invasion

Police say that a college student may have been targeted in an early morning home invasion in New Rochelle.

Investigators say three suspects, one of whom had a gun, stormed into a Treno Street home just after 12 a.m. today and pistol-whipped one of several college students who were inside at the time.

They say the suspects made off with nearly $800 in cash. The student who was pistol-whipped was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine if the suspects knew the students prior to the robbery.
