Surprise snow sets scene for surprise delivery on Taconic

A North White Plains couple had more than just slippery roads to deal with on Tuesday morning as the surprise winter blast forced them to deliver their own child on the side of the Taconic State Parkway.

Karen Sayegh's water broke as her husband Tony helped load her into the car early Tuesday to drive her to the Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, just minutes from their house.

"As soon as I felt the baby's head come out, I said 'Tony, you have to pull over right now because this baby's head is out!'" Sayegh said.

The Sayeghs wrapped up their new addition, Niki Angelina, with a warm coat and were able to safely make it to the hospital. They say Niki's older sister Angelina, 2, was watching DVDs in the car the whole time.
