Coat drive for needy held in Yonkers

A local store owner along with the Yonkers Fire Department held a coat collection drive today.

Perstine Wessley, owner of Harry's Show Repair, says he collected more than 150 coats in addition to other clothing to be given out to residents who need a helping hand during the holidays.

Folks lined up in frigid temperatures to try and find something to help keep them warm as well as look through tables and boxes of all types of clothing.

The 76-year-old says his inspiration for running the coat drive "..comes out of love if you love your fellow man then you have to help your fellow man."
