Westchester mom bakes 4,000 cookies for charity
Taking notes from both Santa Claus and the Keebler Elves, a Yonkers woman baked some 4,000 cookies and cakes, as she does every year, but will see no profits from her culinary creations.
Jennifer Connelly, who is known as "The Cookie Girl" at the Salvation Army in White Plains, is donating all of her baked goods to the less fortunate this Christmas. "Knowing it's going to bring such joy to families that are less fortunate, it's the greatest gift ever," Connelly said.
The Connelly family delivered the bundles of baked goods this morning, and Salvation Army officials say they will be distributed on Monday to some 400 local families.
