Thousands of gallons of fuel spilled on Rockland road

A dangerous situation developed in Stony Point when a fuel truck spilled 4,000 gallons of fuel across a roadway early this morning.

The truck was traveling south on Route 9W in Stony Point when the truck got a flat tire.

The flat tire caused the truck to veer off, striking some rocks on the side of the road and rupturing the tanker.

Police and fire personnel responded to clean up the scene as well as try and prevent the fuel from igniting, turning the scene into a much worse disaster.
