Police searching for suspect in White Plains hit-and-run

Police are looking for the suspect in a White Plains hit-and-run accident that has left a man critically injured.

Police say Raul Rios, 23, is in critical condition after he was struck by a car at around 4 a.m. yesterday on East Post Road. Two strangers who came to help Rios were struck by another hit-and-run driver and suffered minor injuries, according to officials.

Police are looking for a Mercedes that was seen on surveillance footage striking Rios. They say that they are going to enhance the footage to hopefully determine the license plate and arrest the driver.

Authorities say the driver who struck the strangers, David Rivera-Bautista, 22, was later found and arrested. They say Batista had a blood-alcohol content almost twice the legal limit.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call White Plains police at 914-422-6217.
