Pace student involved in Danroy Henry shooting case hospitalized

A Pace University football player who was arrested in connection to the events surrounding the shooting death of Danroy Henry was hospitalized Saturday after allegedly drinking too much.

Police say Joseph Romanick was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital after a friend called 911 because they were worried about his health.

Romanick was arrested along with three others for various offenses related to the night teammate Danroy Henry was fatally shot by police. According to police, Henry drove drunk and struck a police officer outside a bar in October, forcing another officer to shoot him.

University officials say that Romanick is 22 years old and is legally allowed to drink in his on-campus apartment. The university says it will decide if he violated the code of conduct.
