Family of fallen WC detective receives special holiday gift

The family of a White Plains police detective who collapsed and died while chasing down a career criminal received a special holiday gift from some local emergency responders yesterday.

Detective Michael Perry died of a heart attack in June after chasing down a criminal outside of the Galleria Mall in White Plains.

Perry's family was given a check for $5,000 that some emergency responders were able to raise during a recent charity bike ride. Perry's widow, Theresa, thanked everyone who took part in the ride for the generous gift to her family and her sons, David and John, at Christmas time.
