String of home burglaries hits Bedford

Police are looking for a crew of burglars after seven Bedford homes were burglarized on Tuesday.

Investigators are calling the break-ins crimes of opportunity. The thieves broke into homes that were unoccupied during daytime hours. If a knock on the door went unanswered, the burglars forced their way in or, in some cases, found a door unlocked, police said.

According to investigators, the suspects grabbed whatever they could, including expensive electronics and jewelry. Some of the homes were ransacked.

Police are telling residents to report any suspicious persons or cars they notice in their neighborhood.
