Police arrest husband accused of killing wife in Mahopac

Police have arrested the husband of a teenager found brutally murdered in her home on Christmas Eve.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says the woman, 19-year-old Gloria Amay, was fatally stabbed early Friday morning. Authorities say they received a call to check on Amay, and discovered her laying lifeless on the floor.

Police have charged Amay's husband, 25-year-old Paul Amay, with murder. They say the couple was involved in a domestic dispute last night. Amay reportedly strangled his wife outside, dragged her inside, then plunged a knife into her chest several times.

The Sheriff's Office said the couple had an 18-month-old son, who is now with Child Protective Services.
