New Rochelle crews out in full force to keep roads clear

Snow-clearing crews in New Rochelle were out in full force Monday trying to keep the roads clear as a snow emergency was in effect for the city.

Alex Tergis, the Department of Public Works commissioner, says that there were 18 crews out trying to keep the roads passable.

Crews plowed the roads late Sunday night, instead of just salting, in an attempt to keep the roads mostly open for emergency crews.

Some residents said they didn't wait for the city to clear the roads and plowed them on their own.
