Some Yonkers residents still venture out despite storm

Extra snow-clearing crews were called out in Yonkers to handle the first big storm of the winter, but that didn't stop some people from venturing out into the snow.

A blizzard warning was in effect through Monday morning, but many decided to fight through the snow to get supplies and medicines.

Some said they coped by stocking up with supplies, while others used four-wheel drive vehicles to get around in the snow.

Officials across the region urged residents to stay inside and not to go out unless absolutely necessary.
