Alleged Harlem murder suspect arrested at WC home
A Sleepy Hollow man says he had no idea that the friend who had spent Christmas Eve at his house would be arrested just days later and accused of murdering a woman and then stuffing her body into a suitcase in Harlem.
Hassan Malik was arrested Monday night after police moved in on an apartment at 124 Valley St. off of College Avenue in the Village of Sleepy Hollow.
Malik is accused of paying 28-year-old Betty Williams for sex and then killing her after he noticed her trying to take more money.
Malik's friend Louis, who asked that News 12 not release his full name, says that he knew Malik from the Veterans' Association and that he had always been a gentleman.
Malik reportedly told investigators that Williams attacked him with a frying pan and electrical cord, which are the same weapons he's accused of using to kill her.
