Bundle of joy born in WC ambulance thanks to blizzard

An expectant Peekskill mother said that she just couldn't wait for the ambulance she was in to battle the elements and reach the hospital Monday morning, forcing her to give birth to a beautiful baby boy amid the blizzard of 2010.

"I thought we were never going to get here," said new mother Desiree Pearson from her hospital bed in Cortlandt Manor.

Pearson was trapped inside her Peekskill home Monday morning with no way for an ambulance to get in, and once she was finally inside of an ambulance, she realized that there was no way they'd make it to the hospital in time.

Kenny Barton, an EMS worker, helped with the surprise delivery as Pearson told him and his female colleague that she couldn't wait any longer. Pearson says that while she hasn't picked a name just yet, she said "Kenny" is not on the list.
