Rep. Lowey: Bin Laden's death a victory for democracy

Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-District 18) told News 12 Monday morning that the death of Osama bin Laden is a victory for freedom, democracy and justice.

Lowey says she's grateful to all of the men and women in the military, especially those who helped bring about bin Laden's death.

Lowey also stressed that although this is a great victory for the United States, it does not mean the war on terror is over. She says the search for Ayman Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaida, is still on going and that troops must continue their work until the planet is rid of the terrorist organization.
