NYC skyline changing as Ground Zero memorial rises
A memorial for victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is nearing completion, just months before the 10th anniversary of the fateful day. Construction crews working at One World Trade Center say that news of Osama bin Laden's death, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, has only energized them to complete the memorial in time for the 10th anniversary. Two separate pools will be constructed where each of the twin towers once stood as memorials, with plaques listing the names of victims already put in place. Visitors to the underground museum will be met by two tridents from the original towers when they enter the memorial pavilion, a site that is likely to see global traffic for years to come.
