Cops: Little League treasurer scammed thousands

The treasurer for the New City Little League has been arrested after admitting to police that she stole $1,000 from the league, but investigators claim that she stole much more than that.

Joyce Bidnick served as treasurer of the league since 2003 and has been accused of stealing tens-of-thousands from the children's athletic program.

League President Lon Hofstein says that the main concern for the board of directors now is to continue operating the program as smoothly as possible for the sake of all the children that are involved.

Investigators say that the alleged scam was uncovered by other Little League workers. If convicted, Bidnick could face up to 15 years in prison.
