Brewster man accused of domestic violence

A Brewster man is accused of holding is ex-girlfriend hostage insider her upstate home.

According to state police, Jason Levitt had an order of protection against him before he trapped his ex-girlfriend in her New Lebanon home.

The ex-girlfriend escaped after climbing out onto her roof and calling 911 using her cell phone, police say. Levitt took off, running through the woods, but then realized that police were after him.

Levitt is currently being held in the Columbia County Jail.
