Experts now predicting plunge for summer gas prices

As the national average for gas spills over the $4-per-gallon mark, experts are beginning to predict a summer trend for petrol prices that may come as a surprise to most consumers.

Experts are predicting that summer gas prices could drop as much as 50 cents per gallon, but warn that the reductions will not happen quickly as declining global prices in oil do not result in immediate discounts to consumers.

A 50-cent reduction in price could save U.S. drivers some $190 million daily.
