Cops investigating night of violence in Mt. Vernon

Police in Mount Vernon are trying to figure out if three separate incidents of violence that occurred within one hour of each other last night are somehow connected to one another. Cops were first called to North 9th Avenue on reports of shots fired around 9 p.m. Just 30 minutes later, they were called to South 13th Avenue and First Street on reports of more shots being fired in the area. No injuries were reported in either shooting.

Around 10:30 p.m., police received a report of an armed robbery at South 7th Street and Fifth Avenue.

No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.
