WC grandma arrested after toddler found wandering street

An Ossining grandmother was arrested today after a 2-year-old boy in her care was found wandering on a local street. According to authorities, a passerby found the toddler alone near Ellis Place. When they responded, they noticed a nearby home with an open front door and found two other young children who were also left alone. Investigators say Maria Villa, 65, was arrested when she returned to the home, telling police that she had only gone to the store for a few minutes. Police say Villa has been charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and is due back in court next week.
