Rye Playland opens for the season
Rye Playland officially opened for the season today to the sounds of a marching band and many excited parkgoers.
The park will be open on weekends until Memorial Day. Afterward, it will be open every day through the summer.
The park, however, is in financial trouble; one way officials are working to make up the losses is by raising prices. Normal day passes will run $30, while season ticket prices are going up $15 from last year.
For the long-term, the county is looking into about a dozen proposals to change the park and hopefully make it profitable. Details emerge on 12 proposals for Rye Playland12 proposals laid out for future of Rye Playland
