Residents in Stony Point want dead deer removed

Residents in a Stony Point neighborhood want a dead deer removed from a front lawn before the carcass begins to attract scavenging animals.

The doe came to the neighborhood in November after being shot in the neck by an arrow, which remained lodged in her neck until her death.

Officials considered capturing the deer and removing the arrow but decided against it.

The Highway Department says it will collect the carcass first thing on Monday since they are closed on weekends.
