Mamaroneck man involved in police standoff avoids charges

A Mamaroneck man has escaped criminal charges today following a seven-hour standoff with police.

The incident happened yesterday on Woodbine Avenue when police say the man got into a fight with his wife. The woman managed to escape, but police were concerned the man could have had a rifle. The man later surrendered to police peacefully.

Mamaroneck police say no weapons were found. The man is now at a psychiatric facility for evaluation.
